Nia White Belt with Adelle and Joanie

February 4-7 and 12-14, 2016

The Nia White Belt Training is the first level of a five-belt training series that presents a body-centered approach to health, wellness and fitness. If you have a desire to share Nia in a professional capacity, the White Belt Training is your entryway into teaching. Those who choose to pursue the path of personal enrichment use this training as a starting point for becoming a master student.

Over the course of one week, you will comprehensively explore physical sensation through five core-competency areas of study including movement, music, anatomy, science and philosophy. This joyful journey into the self is instrumental in helping you develop body knowing by learning to listen, interpret and consciously respond to the information your body communicates to you via sensation. Enroll in an upcoming training today, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live.

Upon graduation, you are eligible to become a livelihood member. As a livelihood member, you obtain a teaching license (whether you decide to use it or not) and have exclusive access to an in-depth continuing education program, an online forum, and special benefits and privileges. You may enroll in the Green Belt Training - which is dedicated to the craft of teaching - at any time after completing your White Belt Training. You may also enroll in the next level of training, Blue Belt Training.
This White Belt is a spilit weekend format, to accomodate busy working schedules.

Breath and Movement with Adelle Brewer

"Breath and Movement" is an official Transformational Breath Foundation introductory weekend that allows one to learn about the three levels of Transformational Breath® the science of movement and breath, the experience of movement to enhance the breath, as well as four very powerful breathing sessions.

"BaM" is a perfect way to explore both movement and Transformational Breath® with minimal commitment and maximum results. The weekend is designed for everyBody, with no previous knowledge necessary.

We learn about our own unique breathing pattern, begin opening our breath, and feel dramatic shifts in the flow of our lives as a result; then progress into using the breath to clear negativity in the subconscious. We explore how Transformational Breath® clears cellular memory in a scientific way.

Breath and Movement will dive into the body's way of moving, using experiential anatomy to sense the healing power of movement and enhance daily breathing, opening to full potential and possibilities of life. Learning simple, yet profound ways of moving our body to improve circulation, release endorphins and move energetic blocks, we will learn additional tools to aid in the body's natural healing capacity. With increased awareness of the our body and movement, we will become more present, living fully moment to moment.

Aerial Yoga 6-Week Series

Aerial Yoga 6-Week Series

6-week series on Sundays and Tuesdays
7:00 - 8:00 P.M.
$150

Come experience the playfulness and stillness of aerial yoga!  The hammocks that we use in aerial yoga are made of the same fabric used in Cirque du Soleil and Pink’s performances, but modified so that it is closer to the ground.  The hammocks are safety-rated to hold up to 2000 lbs, ensuring that all students can practice safely.  The beauty of aerial yoga is that you don’t need ANY previous experience with acrobatics, aerial dance, or even yoga.

When you come to aerial yoga class, the aerial hammock is used various ways throughout class. You will condition and stretch muscles, decompress joints, and improve range of motion and coordination.

We have a few spots in both series. Please call the studio and leave a message: 210-824-4225

During conditioning moves, your body is partially supported by the hammock to challenge muscles in a way unique to aerial yoga.  You’ll work your core and strengthen your back using both the hammock and your own body weight to provide resistance. When your weight is shared with the hammock, you will be able to move through your full range of motion. You may find that your new core strength will change your day-to-day functioning.

The aerial hammock allows you to stretch your muscles in new ways, making it a powerful tool in improving function.  The novel poses of aerial yoga stretch tight muscles that affect your everyday comfort.  These kinds of benefits make aerial yoga an antidote to the culture of driving and cubicle-sitting.

Flipping upside down gives you the opportunity to change the perspective from your everyday. Every class has inversions which are not only fun, but have many benefits.   When you hang upside down in a hammock, the effects of gravity are inverted, which decompresses the spine and strengthens surrounding muscles.

If deepening your existing yoga practice is one of your goals, the hammock also provides posture-assistance for more advanced, traditional yoga postures.  The hammock provides feedback, creating awareness of your body in your favorite poses.

Finally, every class ends with a relaxation pose, fully supported in the hammock.  Unlike the relaxation pose of a mat yoga class, the hammock reduces noise and light stimuli.  The effect is powerful: it stays with you long after class has ended, and keeps you returning.

Come, be a part of our aerial yoga community! For more information, please visit our FAQ page on our website www.aerialyogasa.com/faq or email us at aerialyogasa@gmail.com.

Register online... click on the 'workshops and events' tab on the schedule page... scroll down and follow the prompts! *The series has started but we have a few spots. Please call the studio and leave a message: 210-824-4225
