Joanie is a nationally certified Nia 1st Degree Black-Belt teacher, Nia Trainer, Nia 5 Stages of Healing facilitator, Nia Moving to Heal teacher and Nia FreeDance teacher, offering Nia classes, Nia White Belt trainings, and Nia workshops.
Joanie brings creativity, laughter, compassion and enthusiasm to her Nia work. Joanie's mission is to share the joy of Nia with everyBody and to help others reclaim their body's natural way of moving and live a life of pleasure. As a teacher of Nia, joy of movement and truly caring for people are her motivations and she believes we are as young as our spirit allows us to be. It is through an open mind and a true connection to joy that we can free, strengthen and heal our body, mind and spirit. Nia has awakened her inner child, and has made her feel timeless, ageless and weightless. Joanie now stays fit by dancing, laughing, skipping, and playing on the floor. "I want everyBody to feel love, joy and pleasure in their body, and live into their potential!"
Joanie is also a Yoga teacher, MELT Method® (MELT) Instructor, JourneyDance™ Facilitator and a Laughter Yoga Leader.
Joanie teaches in corporations, with breast cancer survivors, and volunteers at Haven of Hope, a place of hope and new beginnings in San Antonio for those experiencing homelessness. She offers workshops, classes and presentations throughout the US and Mexico, and is experienced with working with individual, small or large special groups.
