Drumming! Basic Facilitator's Playshop with Arthur Hull

Are you ready for some FUN?! Arthur Hull is coming to San Antonio!

You don’t have to be a drummer or a musician to participate in this program and learn how to successfully facilitate rhythm-based events!

The tools and techniques in the Drum Circle Facilitation Training are adaptable and useful for school teachers, music therapists, kids-at-risk counselors, music teachers and drum teachers.

School Teachers, Music Teachers, Drum Teachers, Music Therapists, Elder-related Professionals, Adults-at-risk Professionals, Kids-at-risk Professionals, Special Needs Professionals, Corporate Training Facilitators, Psychotherapists, Doctors, Nurses and Health care Professionals, School Rhythm Event Facilitators, Community Drum Circles Facilitators, Professional Musicians, Recreational Drummers and Culturally specific drummers... and YOU!

Arthur Hull is an internationally renowned percussionist. He is seen by many as the person who conceived and developed the idea of the facilitated community drum circle. He now travels the world training drum circle facilitators, and he is coming to Texas!

During this weekend training, Village Music Circles™ participants receive extensive practice in the facilitation techniques needed to lead a drum circle or rhythm event for a variety of populations and group sizes.

The program format will include group instruction and discussions combined with small group break-out exercises that reinforce the learning of the foundational facilitation elements presented.

Exercises are taught sequentially so as to become progressively more complex as the facilitators’ skills develop throughout the weekend. Participants experience multiple small group activities using movement, voice, musical instruments, and improvisational rhythm games.

Facilitator's Challenge leaders offer critique and feedback to the Basic Facilitators, which are a important part of the learning process. More time is given for individual attention, critiques, and skills building.

The Basic Facilitator’s Playshop includes extensive opportunities to freely experiment during the exciting and challenging freeform “Jump-time!” This jump-time offers many hours of learning fun, practicing and exploring new skills in a supportive environment.
